Terms of Service

Rules, user responsibilities, and service terms governing your use of the RentMeter mobile application and website.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or registering on the RentMeter mobile application or website, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “Owner”, or “Property Manager”) and RentMeter (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

2. Nature of the Service

RentMeter provides an administrative digital register and calculation tool for property owners, paying guest (PG) operators, hostel managers, and room rental landlords.

Tenancy Notice: RentMeter is strictly a software record-keeping utility. RentMeter is not a real estate broker, rental agency, escrow provider, or legal arbiter. We are not a party to any rental agreements, lease contracts, or financial settlements made between property owners and their tenants.

3. User Responsibilities

When using RentMeter, you agree to:

Provide accurate room numbers, tenant names, contact details, and rental amounts.
Ensure you have the right to record and store the tenant information you enter into the application.
Maintain the confidentiality of your mobile number and OTP verification codes.
Refrain from using the platform for fraudulent entries, unlawful activities, or unauthorized commercial operations.

4. Payments and Records

RentMeter allows property owners to track and record rental transactions:

Manual Logging: RentMeter allows you to record payments received via Cash, UPI, or Bank Transfer for your personal bookkeeping.
Payment Accuracy: You are solely responsible for verifying that payments recorded in the app match actual amounts received in your bank account or cash register.
Direct Sharing: Payment receipts generated by the app are informational summaries provided for the convenience of property owners and tenants.

5. Limitation of Liability and Governing Law

To the fullest extent permitted by Indian law, RentMeter and its team shall not be held liable for tenant non-payment, rental disputes, property damage, loss of data, or service downtime. You use the service at your own discretion and risk.

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any legal disputes or claims shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India.
